Creating a SelfSigned SSL

Do the following steps:

1. yum -y install mod_ssl openssl

2. Generate Private key:

openssl genrsa -out ca.key 1024

3. Generate CSR:

Openssl req -new -key ca.key -out ca.csr
4. Install SSL Certificate:

openssl x509 -req -days 365 -in ca.csr -signkey ca.key -out ca.crt

5. Copy the ca* to corresponding locations:

cp ca.key /etc/pki/tls/private

cp ca.csr /etc/pki/tls/private

cp ca.crt /etc/pki/tls/certs

6. Make apache aware about this installation

vi +/SSLCertifiateFile /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf

SSLCertificateFile /etc/pki/tls/cert/ca.crt

SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/pki/tls/private/ca.key
